A Look Back Over This Past Year
What a year of ups and downs. In 2016, U.S. stocks had a rocky start and didn’t get a firm footing until the second half of the year and really hit their stride in the last two months. In addition, the presidential election took center spotlight. I am sure many of you agree it is refreshing to not be bombarded by political ads.
Personally, on a sad note, my father passed away in August. His health had been declining over the past year. However, he was 90 ½ and will always be remembered as a generous, hard-working and morally rock solid individual. Seeing my dad’s health decline and eventually spending time in a long-term care facility made me fully understand what many of you’ve gone through with loved ones. As a result, I appreciate how important it is to spend time, and in some cases, the money to create lifelong experiences and memories with our family.
Overall, I would have to say it’s been a blessed year. The firm continues to grow, and we are fortunate to work with valued individuals and families. In addition, our staff is AWESOME. To get the right mix of talented, hard-working, dedicated, compassionate and fun professionals is not easy. It’s like your grandma’s favorite Christmas cookie recipe. It takes years to perfect, but when all the elements come together; it’s a thing of beauty!
Thus, I am thankful for my staff, who truly have a servant’s heart. In addition, I am surrounded by a loving family. Believe me, my better half, Sandra, is not only a loving mother and wife, but also a queen of logistics. I could not do what I do without her support and help. As I write this, I am hoping to finish in time to go home and watch a Christmas special with my three kids Jake, Luke & Tess and let’s not forget our family pet, Wyatt.
I am also grateful for the opportunity to work with many talented CPAs, accountants, attorneys, insurance professionals, consultants, contractors, etc. These professionals make up our preferred provider list, and each of them is an invaluable resource in helping us assist clients’ during life’s transition and challenges.
The older I get, the more I come to appreciate being surrounded by special friends and yes you – our clients. I and the staff love what we do; however, it is icing on the cake when a client shares pictures of their new grandchild, invites us to their 50th wedding anniversary, shares pictures and tells us all about that special trip they went on or proudly tells us about how well their kids or grandkids are doing in school.
Knowing that we can help you devote more time to what you love, and for many of you it’s your family, is a very special reward. As we end this year and head into 2017, it is my hope that we, Integrity Advisory, can continue to assist you in a way that provides you with less anxiety and more peace of mind allows you to spend quality time with your family and friends. Creating investment strategies and financial plans is what we do, but seeing the purpose behind it and the difference it makes in your lives is the real reward.
Thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your life, to share your joys and sorrows, and be a part of your journey in life.
Families, Fun and Frosting
On a cold and rainy Sunday earlier this month, several families joined us at the Wolf Creek Art Studio to decorate gingerbread houses. It was a beautiful setting, and the laughter of children and holiday spirit filled the air.
